hair care tips
- Exposure to harsh and bright sunlight should be avoided as much as possible. Wear a hat or a scarf when going outdoors. If you have red tones, the colours get accentuated.
- After swimming, rinse the salt and chlorinated water from the hair. Copper in the pool water can cause a chemical reaction with lighteners giving the hair a greenish coating.
- A blend of green tea and vitamin E acts as a protective coat.
- Low pH shampoos (4.5 to 5.5) help reduce the damage from oxidation while closing the cuticle. The rate at which the colour fades can substantially be reduced when the cuticles are close.
- Use a good Shampoo, Nourishing Conditioner, Leave-On, as per your hair colour. This will preserve the natural tone and keep the hair bright for longer periods. It also prevents yellowing and brassiness while reviving the dull hair.
- Do not rub the hair vigorously while drying, but dry gently with a towel. Serum use is a must. This silicon hair conditioner coats the cuticles, making hair smooth and silky. It also gives strength, texture and body.
- Use a conditioner every time you shampoo the hair and go for a salon treatment once a month.
- Follow the above procedures religiously. It will reduce your expenses over retouching and maintenance, not to mention the heartaches.
